Day 28 - Christmas Eve, Herne Bay

Today was a very quiet day - not least because Lynn and I slept half the morning away, only woken by Tom at 10am.

Luckily, we were having a quiet day anyway. Nothing happened for the next several hours (other than excessive eating). Then we went to Whitstable, the next town West of here on the Thames estuary and renowned for its shellfish. Such as their cockles:

Cockles, mussels etc

Cockles with salt, pepper, vinegar

The trip ended in the Whitstable bowling alley for Finlay's 7th birthday (Lynn's first cousin twice removed (I think)..

Then back to Herne Bay for dinner and a quiet evening, interupted by Tom's taking me to the Copper Pottle to make me drink warm Kentish ales (which were much nicer than that sounds).
