Day 10 - Montevideo

The short version is that Montevideo is a pleasant and unremarkable city.

The slightly longer version is that after breakfast we gathered on the dock and were herded into buses for the two hour highlights of Montevideo tour. Our first stop was Independence Square where we looked at the statue and various buildings and took several photos. There was some sort of protest going on, but it was the morning and they hadn't got started. We drove around a bit and went past the congress building, where we stopped for more photos. Then on to a large park where we looked at a big statue of a bullock train, and back to the ship along the corniche.

After an unnecessary lunch we went our again and walked around the shops and cafes of the port district. Other than the block closest to the ship it was quite quiet. A bit run down, but with a pleasant, European feel. Took a photo of the Graf Spree's anchor, though my phone seems to have become blurry.
