Day 34-37 - In Which Not Much Happens

More quiet days spent in Kent.

Day 34, Tuesday, was New Year's Eve. Unfortunately a bit greyer and colder than the previous sunny day, but that didn't stop us walking into the township of Herne Bay along the seafront, around the shops and back the same way.

That took it out of us and we really didn't do much all afternoon. In the evening we watched a couple of movies to keep us awake until midnight, when we watched the fireworks on tv and went to bed.

On New Year's Day we had an easy morning. In the afternoon we went to Phil and Jeff's (new) house on the western outskirts of Ashford. I thought that would only be for a couple of hours but we didn't get back until about 10pm.

On Thursday the 2nd not much happened. Lynn went shopping with Jacqui. It remained grey and damp and that discouraged us from doing anything out of doors.

On Friday the 3rd we went to the Ashford Outlet Centre - a large oval-shaped shopping complex where a lot of things were on sale. Lynn got some shoes, I bought three (!) suits and we also bought a small, cheap, bright suitcase to carry it all home.

On the way back Jacqui and Tom took us to Eastwell Manor for afternoon tea - a large stately home that is now a hotel and restaurant complex. We ate far too much, naturally.

(It looks so dark in the last picture because it was after 5 by the time we left).
