According to Tripit and to my maths, our trip took 45 days. It's possible that I've missed a day or miscounted somewhere in my blog.
But without actually checking, I think this is an Around the World in 80 Days issue. That going right around the globe, and crossing the dateline, seems to have saved us a day. I suppose this was that very long day at the beginning, where the day we left and the day we arrived in Santiago were the same but shouldn't have been.
